Sacramento State Students
(Not traveling outbound internationally, nor coming inbound from international)
The Associated Students Inc. of Sacramento State, sponsors a health insurance program for domestic Sacramento State students. Those are most commonly students that are not participating in either the outbound International Student program (see further below), or the Inbound International Student program, again see further below). Eligible students must be regular matriculated students taking at least 6 or more semester credits. Students who do not have group health insurance through their own employer or their parents' employers' plan can provide for their own private policy. This program does not necessarily cover all expenses, but is intended to cover significant portions of catastrophic health issues. See plan for potential eligibility of Dependent Coverage.
The program generally provides (subject to plan document exclusions and limitations):
| Plan Maximum Benefit | $50,000 |
| Co-pay Options (Using PPO network providers) | 80% |
| Co-pay Options Non-PPO (of Usual Customary) | 60% |
| Deductible Options | $250 |
| Outpatient "Day Surgery" capped Limit | $1,500 |
In order to access treatment under this plan, students must first use the Student Health Center where primary treatment will be administered or receive a referral (medical emergencies may be excepted). Separately and in addition to the above program, when a student pays their regular student fees, they become eligible to use the campus' Student Health Center. NOTE, the Student Health Center is not "Insurance Coverage", and does not represent the provision of any Health Insurance Policy or benefit program.
If you need this additional policy for domestic students, the ASI has arranged special facilities from where you can purchase coverage that will meet and exceed the University's requirements. To view a coverage summary and enroll online at: CSUHealthLink.
