Food Sanitation

The Sacramento State Office of Environmental Health and Safety does not inspect onsite food facilities, instead, this service is provided by the Sacramento County Department of Environmental Health .

The Sacramento County Department of Environmental Health is the local agency concerned with businesses that sell food and/or beverages directly to the consumer, and they inspect retail food facilities to ensure they operate in a manner consistent with safe food handling practices. The Sacramento County Department of Environmental Health will review and evaluate the University food facilities for equipment, adequate storage facilities, plumbing, utensil washing, adequate lighting and ventilation and other food protection issues.

The mission of Sacramento County Environmental Health is to maintain, and improve the environment of Sacramento County Community and protect the health and safety of its citizens through monitoring, evaluation, education, and enforcement, when necessary, of codes and regulations read and cleaned before being discharged into waterways.
