Fall Protection

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) requires that fall protection systems be in place in circumstances where workers or their tools or equipment are in danger of falling. Fall protection includes guard rails; safety nets; personal fall arrest systems (lanyards, horizontal and vertical lifelines, bodybelts, etc.); covers for holes in streets, roofs and floors; and toeboard systems to prevent tools or materials from falling on those working or passersby below. OSHA regulations also require a trained, competent person to oversee safety on a fall-protection-required jobsite. Details can be found in the references cited herein.
