The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Risk Management Services (RMS) has responsibility for preserving the human, financial and physical assets of the University and minimizing the negative impacts of unpredictable events. Academic departments and administrative units share in the responsibility to preserve assets within their control, take measures to prevent and reduce losses before they occur and report promptly all incidents, hazards and potential claims.
Through his leadership of RMS programs, and in support of the University's mission, the Assistant Vice President is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Safety and Environmental Compliance,
- Program Compliance and Space Utilization Audits,
- Compliance Training,
- Claims Management,
- Purchasing of Insurance,
- Review of Third Party Space Utilization Contracts, and
- The allocation and management of space for both academic and third party campus events.
